Toni Rama
SHORT BIOGRAPHY
Toni Rama received a degree in telecommunication
engineering from the
Telecommunication School of the
Technical University of Catalonia, Barcelona, Spain, in 2002, and nowadays he is doing a Ph.D
at the AudioVisual Technologies Group at the
Telecommunication School of the
Technical University of Catalonia
.
He wrote his Diploma Thesis at the image processing department (A7) of the Fraunhofer
IGD in Darmstadt, Germany. The main topic of his thesis was the development and the implementation of a
robust shot detection algorithm using an edge-based approach. After finishing
his studies, he worked in Germany for one year in PROKENT AG, a service company
involved in the development and production of automatic machines for the reverse
vending of empties, where he developed and implemented algorithms for pattern
classification and recognition.
He has also been
working as project manager of different audiovisual projects for
companies such as Globecast S.A., Mediapro and Canal Satelite Digital.
Nowadays he collaborates as a teacher in the Centre
de la Imatge i la Tecnologia Multimedia (CITM) in Terrassa where he teaches
the courses "Video Systems" and "Video Systems and Digital Image
Processing" and at the private university of
La Salle where he teaches the course "Computer
Architecture".
